Needham Police Log: Lost and Found Phone, Loud Night and More

The following reports were provided by the Needham Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.


Saturday, Sept. 7
  • A Walpole resident reported that he left his iPhone 5 on the counter at McDonalds on Chestnut Street. He lost it on Wednesday, Sept. 4, but learned that someone apparently found it and is using it. Police are investigating, as of 9 a.m.
  • A sick raccoon was reported in the Fay Lane and Hazel Lane area at around 11:15 a.m. The animal was put down and disposed of. 
  • Farley Pond Lane resident reported a number of hang up calls before 4 p.m. Police gave them advice.
  • 6:45 p.m., police saw two individuals involved in a verbal argument on A Street. The two were identified and sent on their way. 
  • Painters tape was used to vandalize the outside of a residence on Curtis Road. At about 9:30 p.m., police responded and checked home, and did not find any vandalism inside. 
Sunday, Sept 8
  • A noise violation report came in to the police department at 4 a.m. Police found two 19-year-old men, a 19-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old man, all from Needham. The four appeared to be incapacitated because of liquor. They were placed under protective custody in the care of one of the male's houses.
  • A Melrose Ave resident reported at around 9:30 a.m. that a bike had been taken from his shed, some time between Sept. 1 and today.
