Needham Man Faces Driving Charges in Brookline

Joseph Baron was arrested on numerous charges after a traffic stop in Coolidge Corner.

A local man was arrested earlier this month in Brookline and faces a slew of charges, according to an arrest report in that town.

Joseph Baron, 60, of Needham, was arrested at 11:56 a.m. on March 3, for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, one-way violation, unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle, and attaching plates.

An officer in Coolidge Corner observed a Volvo pull into a metered space and then back into Beals Street facing the wrong direction on a one-way street, according to a report. The vehicle then exited the wrong way again and turned left onto Harvard Street. The vehicle was stopped near Williams Street.

The driver, Baron, handed the officer a license and a registration for a minivan, and reportedly explained that he had purchased the vehicle on Feb. 27.

Brookline Dispatch, however, reported that Baron’s license expired on Oct. 17, 2013, and that the VIN number of the vehicle had cancelled plates. Baron was later arrested.
