Needham Man Arrested for Drunk Driving, Resisting Arrest

Norwood Police arrested a 19-year-old Needham man for allegedly driving drunk after he nearly struck a police vehicle on Route 1 northbound early Wednesday morning.

According to Norwood Police logs, the Hillside Avenue resident sped by two officers who had responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 1 at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, nearly striking one of them. Officers located and stopped the man's vehicle traveling on the northbound side of Route 1 near Jack Madden Ford.

The Needham driver will be charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, as well as several traffic infractions.
