Needham Man Arrested for Allegedly Grabbing Tampa Bay Mascot

On Tuesday night, one Sox fan allegedly went after the opponent's mascot on their home turf.

According to the report on Fox Boston, Trevor Martin, 27, of Needham is accused of reaching out of the stands and grabbing Raymond, the Tampa Bay Rays mascot around the neck during the game. He then pulled the mascot--and the man in the suit--toward the railing.

The mascot was able to wrestle free, and is choosing not to press assault charges against Martin, according to CBS Boston's story. Tampa Bay police, however, charged him with disorderly intoxication in a public space. He posted $100 bail for the misdemeanor.

Both sources report that he told police he had two beers during the game.

The Red Sox took the game 2-0. They also won Wednesday night's game 7-3.
