Hit and Runs in Needham Police Log: Dec. 24 - 26

Tuesday, Dec. 24

10:26 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a hit and run at a Great Plain Avenue business. After the investigation the victim was advised to contact her insurance company to file a report.

7:20 p.m.: Police arrested Jayme Winnick, 47, of Windale Circle, Needham, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

Thursday, Dec. 26

8:20 a.m.: Police spoke with a Needham resident at headquarters regarding fraud. Amazon.com called him when someone attempted to open an account using his old AMEX credit card number.

9:56 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a Walnut Street address for a report of a past hit and run crash. The hit and run occurred at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Central Avenue Dec. 12. There was minor damage done to the victim’s car. The party was advised to notify her insurance company.

11:28 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a past residential breaking and entering on South Street. The residents compiled a list of stolen items. This matter is being investigated.

1:26 p.m.: Police responded to a Chestnut Street business for a report of damage done to a motor vehicle parked in the lot. All necessary information was exchanged with both parties involved without incident.

11:28 p.m.: Police observed a car with a malfunctioning license plate light on Highland Avenue. Police proceeded to initiate a traffic stop and after a brief investigation it was determined that the operator, a 39-year-old Acton man, was operating unlicensed and will be summonsed to Dedham District Court.
