Cab Causes Damage to Lawn in Needham Police Log: Jan. 13 - 15

The following information was supplied by Needham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 13

7:57 a.m.: Police responded to a Wexford Street business for a past breaking and entering. Some retail merchandise was taken. The matter is under investigation.

1:17 p.m.: A Needham resident reported that her car was vandalized while she was parked in the Chapel Street lot. Someone used an unknown sharp object to scratch the left passenger door.

3:12 p.m.: Police were dispatched to the intersection of Dedham Avenue at Webster Street for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, police observed two vehicles; one with with heavy front end damage and airbag deployment and the second with heavy back end damage. Needham Fire Department also arrived on the scene. After assessing the occupants of the vehicles,they were transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. One of the operators was cited for following too closely.

3:16 p.m.: A Needham resident reported that his driver’s side door was dented sometime over the past couple of days. He is  not sure where or when the damage occurred.

3:34 p.m.: Police responded to a residence on Central Avenue regarding fraudulent charges that were made to the couple’s credit cards. The residents canceled the credit cards and this matter is currently being investigated.


Wednesday, Jan. 15

12:34 a.m.: Police conducted a traffic stop at South Street near Edgewater Drive. A check of the operator’s driver’s license revealed that it was suspended. A 30-year-old Hull woman will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating after suspension, failing to yield when turning left and failing to dim high beams.

9:41 a.m.: Police responded to a Webster Street address to take a report of vandalism. The homeowner reports that a cab drove over his front lawn, causing damage.

8:56 p.m.: Police responded to a Franklin Street location for a suspicious person. An area business was checked and everything appeared in order. No people were located.
