Barn Fire in Needham Police Log: Dec. 12 - 14

The following information was supplied by Needham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 12

11:33 a.m.: Police responded to a personal injury crash on Highland/Morton. The first vehicle stopped to let a UPS driver cross the street when she was struck from behind. The Needham resident was transported by EMS for medical treatment.

4:05 p.m.: Police responded to a Greendale Avenue residence for the report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. Sometime over the past week a Kindle Fire was removed from the resident’s vehicle which was parked in the driveway.

Friday, Dec. 13

8:23 a.m.: A Norwood resident reported that her car was struck while parked in the Beth Israel Hospital parking lot.

11:13 a.m.: A Murphy Road resident reported that her car was vandalized overnight.


Saturday, Dec. 14

9:18 a.m.: Police responded to the area of Edgewater Drive and South Street for a property damage crash. A truck was towing a trailer carrying a large plow. The plow had come free and caused damage to a fence and utility pole.

11:10 a.m.: Units responded with Needham Fire Department to 361 West Street for a report of a barn fire in the back yard. Needham Fire Department extinguished the fire promptly. There were no injuries and the main residence had minor damage to it.

4:35 p.m.: Police were on patrol in a marked cruiser and were dispatched to a hit and run car accident at the intersection of Central Avenue and Charles River Street. There were no injuries and one vehicle was towed from the scene. The other vehicle involved who witnessed the accident said a black F-150 left the scene of the accident and was not located.
