Social media is pretty important to us at Needham Patch. Not only does it provide excellent ways of sharing news with Needham residents but it’s also just a great way to expand that sense of community that is so important in a town like Needham.
Because it is so important, we have Social Media Saturday, a feature published every weekend that highlights the past week’s worth of Tweets, posts, likes, friends and comments. It’s our way of thanking those of you who communicate with us and encouraging more of our readers to do the same—think of it like waving hello on the street. Wave to us! And every weekend, we’ll wave back.
This is also a great way to highlight new Needham-related Facebook and other media pages we come across. So if you’re out there and want us to know about you, send us a link!
Highlights of the Week
• Thanks to everyone for liking us on Facebook. Haven't found us yet? Check us out and give us a click. If you’re a local business or organization, we’ll be happy to return the favor and spread the Facebook love.
• Like something you see on Patch? Along with leaving us a comment underneath the post, tell us what you think via our Facebook page by liking or commenting on our links. This week, Alison Friedman Borrelli “liked” our link to this week’s Lady Mama column, entitled “The Back to School Sendoff.”
• At Patch, we use Twitter to help spread the word about the interesting and important things going on in Needham, so it’s great when our Twitter followers help us by re-Tweeting our posts to keep the information cycle going.
•@NeedhamMDT was nice enough to retweet our message of “Needham Soccer Club Announces Start of 42nd Year http://bit.ly/qpZICY”
•@sahnetaeter also gave us a retweet this week, sending out to his followers, “Are You Prepared for an Emergency? http://bit.ly/ovEVWr#hmrd”
