Sound Off: Too Many Politicians at Aly Raisman Rally?

Some have said the event featured too little of the Olympic gymnast and should have offered more for the kids.

Needham celebrated its local Olympian with a on Sunday, Aug. 26, featuring music, words from local officials and the gymnast herself. And while many people seemed to enjoy the event, some have said they felt the program featured too many politicans and too little of Aly.

At a few points throughout the rally at , members of the crowd who were waiting to hear Raisman speak let out a collective sigh as more songs were performed and speakers were introduced.

And felt the event should have offered more for the kids.

"They should have had children speak on what Aly's triumph meant to them and allow Aly to answer the children's questions. Isn't this what its all about?" the reader wrote in the comments section under , noting that there was a lot of political "grandstanding."
