Community Corner

Do you know a child with special needs who would love some friendship?

The Friendship Circle reaches out and extends warmth and friendship to Jewish children with special needs and their families. The “Friends At Home” program enables these special children to develop friendships of their own without leaving the comfort of their home.

Imagine having a young child look up to you and await your visit every week. Many Jewish teens around the U.S. and beyond have discovered the joys of working with children with special needs through the Friendship Circle. We are pleased to offer that special feeling to the Jewish teens in our community as well. Additionally there is that extra bonus of community service hours to add to your resume. However, there is nothing in the world and no reward as great as the simple smile and laughter you will bring into these children’s lives.

The child’s family gets desperately needed respite from the constant strain and drain, and the pleasure of seeing their child become part of the community. They are also able to share and interact with others facing circumstances and challenges similar to their own.

The supporter provides the wherewithal for the Friendship Circle to exist. By observing the very obvious difference the program is making to so many lives, supporters of the Friendship Circle make the smiles of these special children their own.

This free program has been met with incredible success in across the United States and Canada and in many other places. Our local Friendship Circle in Needham - is here to serve the communities of Needham, Dedham, Dover, and Westwood.
