Obituary: Violet M. (McGloin) Arnott, Needham High School Graduate

Violet M. (McGloin) Arnott, 86, of Needham, died Oct. 9, 2013. 

Born in Needham, Violet was the daughter of Lily and Alexander Anderson of Aberdeen, Scotland, and later, Needham. She was a graduate of Needham High School and also a graduate of the Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing. She worked at Needham Glover Memorial Hospital as a nurse for many years. She was a member of the Boston Yankee Division Ladies Auxiliary. 

Violet was wife of the late Thomas E. Arnott and Joseph A. McGloin Sr.

She is survived by her children Joseph A. McGloin Jr. and his wife Carol, Gail E. (McGloin) Stoddard, Donald F. McGloin and his wife Rosa and Charles J. McGloin and his wife Barbara; her grandchildren James McGloin, Susan Boyle, Jay Stoddard, Nicole Stablein, David McGloin, Scott McGloin, Steven McGloin, Ryan McGloin and Matthew McGloin; her stepchildren Thomas P. Arnott and his wife Loretta, John L. Arnottand his wife Ellen and Judith E. Arnott; her step grandchildren Thomas Arnott, Colleen Less, Margaret Ward, Catherine Lally, Kenneth Arnott, Maura (Arnott) Mitchell and Robert Arnott; and her many great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings Lily Andrews, Alexander Jr. and George Anderson and her step-father Charles DeFazio of Needham.

Interment in Needham Cemetery.
