Obituary: Robert Alexander Morrison, United States Army Infantry Veteran

Robert Alexander Morrison, of Needham, formerly of Brookline, died Jan. 2, 2014.

Born in County Down, Ireland, July 17, 1923, he immigrated to his mother's sisters home in Brookline. He was a graduate of Brookline High School, Northeastern University and Staley College of the Spoken Word, where he earned a master's degree. He also earned a master's degree in clinical psychology from Columbia University in 1959. Robert served in the United States Army Infantry 1st Div. from 1943 to 1945 where he earned several medals including a Bronze Star.

Robert was a member of the Beth-horan lodge of Masons, which met in Brookline. He spent his life in the helping professions, he spent 25 years in New York, finally retiring to Brookline. After retiring, he taught in the English as a second language program in the Park Street Church to foreign college students for 20 years.

Bob is survived by his sister Sarah Isobel Morrison of Ireland and many extended family members in the United States and Ireland.

Interment Walnut Hills Cemetery.
