Obituary: John F. Joyce, United States Army Veteran of World War II

John F. Joyce, of Woburn, formerly of Needham, died Jan. 12, 2014.

He was a veteran of World War II in the United States Army, 511 Parachute Infantry. He was also a member of the George Dilboy VFW, Post 529, Town River Yacht Club, Quincy. 

John worked at the Watertown Arsenal and the JFK Building (GSA) Boston. 

He was husband of the late Virginia Joyce and son of the late Mary M . (Nee) and John J. Joyce.

He is survived by his siblings, Robert W. Joyce and his wife Theresa of Westford and Barbara A. Lucas of Somerville; his sister-in-law, Joanne Licciardi of Everett; and his nieces, nephews, friends and cousins including those from Ireland, England and Wales. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary McDonough, Thomas Joyce and Catherine Phelan. 

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Somerville, Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Somerville at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
