Obituary: James K. Brown, Served Clients in Riverside Community Care of Needham

Obituary from John Everett & Sons Funeral Home:

James K. Brown, 62, of North Attleboro, died Oct. 12, 2013 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland.

Jim had lived in Norwood and Natick prior to settling in North Attleborough 10 years ago.

Born and raised in Natick, he was a son of the late Kenneth J. and Dorothy E. (Conlon) Brown. Jim was a graduate of Saint Patrick’s School in Natick and Marian High School in Framingham. He continued his education at Boston State Teacher’s College while supporting himself working in the kitchens at Leonard Morse Hospital.

Jim was employed for 24 years with the Natick Public Schools. During his tenure there he was a 4th grade teacher at Brown School and later taught 5th grade at Kennedy Middle School. Fifteen years ago he changed the focus of his career to working with the developmentally disabled. Jim has served clients with Riverside Community Care of Needham, Charles River, Inc. of Norwood, and Lifeworks of Norwood and Westwood, working with great enthusiasm in the field.

He was a great fan of Boston sports teams and enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod. The acknowledged “hub” of his family, Jim was the force behind family gatherings and was diligent in remaining connected to family members both near and far.
