Obituary: Elfreda B. Thomas, Volunteer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital Gift Shop

Elfreda B. “Pearl” Thomas, of Needham, formerly of Wellesley, died Dec. 8, 2013. 

She was wife of the late Stanley R. Thomas. 

Elfreda was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and had an advanced degree from the University of Illinois. She was an active volunteer in many civic organizations most recently with her work at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital gift shop. She lived in Needham for the last 13 years. 

She leaves her children Stanley R. Thomas III and his wife Rosalie of Sparta, Wis., David J. Thomas and his wife Marty of Napa, Calif. and Mary T. Hall and her husband David of Mont Vernon, N.H.; her grandchildren Pete, Wendy, Amy, Michael, Sarah and Emily; her step-grandchildren Heather, David and Carl Hall; and her 17 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elfreda’s memory to Doctors Without Borders.
