A young Dover entrepreneur is now peddling her wares in Needham.
Young Leslie Marsh, 12, received a paper marbling kit as a Hanukkah present a few years ago, and is today making and selling handmade greeting cards. She got a booth at this year's Dover Days fair, which is where she was spotted by a volunteer at the Beth Israel Medical Center –Needham tent.
“I was amazed at her creativity and overwhelmed by her humility. When I looked at her cards I thought, ‘wow, she rivals Papyrus.’ I think her stuff is magnificent,” said Kim Hinden, BID-Needham's gift shop manager, in a press release.
Hinden was volunteering at the BID-Needham's tent, and according to the release, was so impressed with Marsh's work that she asked if the young Dover crafter would sell the cards in the hospital's recently reopened gift shop, The Gift Box.
In the press release, Marsh said, “I was so excited. As soon as she left, I ran over to my dance teacher [who was two booths over] and told her all about it. I was happy for the rest of the day.”
The release also adds that, a few minutes after Marsh first came to the gift shop to see her cards on sale, a customer came in and bought several.
