Domestic Violence Action Committee Hosting Take Back the Night

Needham High School in partnership with the Domestic Violence Action Committee is putting on its’ 7th annual Take Back the Night program.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov., 7, at 7 p.m. in the High School cafeteria.

Take Back the Night (TBTN) is an international event to raise awareness about domestic violence and its prevention. High School students organize the event,  which typically attracts 50 to 75 people. There will be music by local bands, acapella groups, keynote speaker, followed by a candle light and chanting march. Often visual representations of the extent of domestic violence within the state are part of Take Back the Night, for example, the Silent Witness or Clothesline projects.

The event requires a great deal of planning involving town and school permitting, coordination of scheduling, promotion and fund raising.
