TAKE BACK THE NIGHT
Needham High School’s Take Back the Night Committee, in
conjunction with Needham Domestic Violence Action Committee (DVAC) is hosting
its 7th annual Take Back the
Night event on Thursday, November
7th, from 6 – 9 pm at Needham High School’s Cafeteria. Take Back the Night is an event that spreads
awareness about domestic and dating violence and sexual assault. Its’ mission is to end violence in our
community and promote healthy relationships.
Planned and put on by Needham High School students, there will be live
music, guest speakers, a candlelit march, free food, freebies and much
more. This has been a very successful
event in previous years; Needham High School event co-chairs have previously
received Peer Leadership awards from the Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office in
recognition of their roles in leading the event. The entire community is invited to attend and
show its support. Additionally, the High
School will be hosting REACH’s Silent Witnesses project which represents women,
men and children who were murdered in acts of domestic violence in
Massachusetts in the past year.
