Joe's in Needham has dedicated its April Not Your Average Cause to support a Needham resident,
mother and runner, Amy Walls, and her marathon fundraising for the Melanoma
Foundation of New England (MFNE). Mention
MFNE at Joe's on Monday's in April and 15% of your meal will be donated to the Amy’s Marathon Run for Melanoma.
Amy
Walls, President of MFNE will dedicate her 2014 Boston Marathon run to her late
husband Bill Walls who died of melanoma in 2006 leaving Amy and their 18-month
old twins Ben and Grace. For the past 8 years Amy has dedicated her life to
spreading awareness about melanoma – the deadliest form of skin cancer - and
supporting the efforts of the MFNE. MFNE is the largest non-profit in the
region dedicated to skin cancer awareness and early detection, and provides a variety
of free programs targeting the prevention of skin cancer for children, teens
and adults, including Billy’s Buddies, a patient support program named
after Bill Walls.
