Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston (JCC) is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Leventhal-Sidman campus in Newton

NEWTON,

Mass. – October 15, 2013 – The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston (JCC)
is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Leventhal-Sidman campus
in Newton with a full day of events on Sunday, October 20, 2013. The
celebration includes events that reflect the strong programs and activities the
JCC provides to thousands throughout the community every year, including arts
& culture performances and interactive programming for young families.

“30 years ago our community came together to imagine the

role a JCC could play in a thriving Jewish community. Since then, we’ve built

Jewish identities and family traditions. We’ve built healthy minds, bodies and

spirits. We’ve built leaders, dancers, philanthropists, artists and teachers.

In our three decades, we have built the foundation of a strong Jewish community
for today and for generations to come,”

said Mark Sokoll, President and CEO of
JCCs of Greater Boston
. “We look forward to continuing to provide
contemporary experiences that advance the aspirations of our constituents and
to support and strengthen the Jewish community of the future so that every
individual and Jewish organization thrives.”

To
kick things off, families are invited to a “Family Fun Festival” on the JCCGB

West Lawn from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The festival will feature arts and

crafts, a “Touch-a-Truck” station where children can explore real police, fire,

and ambulance vehicles, health and wellness activities, and a performance by
family musician Karen K and the Jitterbugs at 11:15 a.m.
