Winter Storm Watch In Effect For Needham

Town could see 3-5 inches of snow and a mix of rain and sleet starting Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday morning

Hope you didn't put away that shovel just yet.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 29 through Thursday, March 1 that calls for 3-5 inches of snow for Norfolk County, including Needham.

Temperatures right around freezing for most of the weather event will result in a wintry mix of snow and sleet; however, if temperatures dip a bit, the National Weather Service warns that Needham could receive even more snow.

A mix of sleet and snow will make for slippery roadways, so drivers should use extreme caution on the roads—particularly if they didn't listen to Punxsutawney Phil and took off the snow tires.

The heaviest precipitation is expected late Wednesday into early Thursday morning.
