What's Going on in Needham: Menorah Contest, Pie Fundraiser and Tennis Lessons

A look at some of of the community bulletins uploaded to Patch in the past week

Here are just a few of the announcements Needham readers shared this week on Patch:

Design contest—The Chabad Jewish Center and Parametric Technology Corporation are encouraging local residents to design a virtual menorah. The winning design will be lit on the Needham Town Common during Chanukah, and the designer will receive an iPad or $500 cash.

Buy a pie—The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Needham is selling Thanksgiving pies to benefit the clients of Community Servings for the annual “Pie in the Sky” fundraiser. 

Big game—Watch the Needham High School varsity girls field hockey team play their final Carey Division game on Oct. 23 at DeFazio Field.

Tennis lessons—Sign up for adult tennis lessons at the Needham Park and Recreation Department.

Dream job—One lucky Needham resident is spending this fall interning at the White House in Washington, D.C.

Antique show—The Beth Shalom Garden Club is planning an antique show in November.

Award winner—A sales manager at Coldwell Banker in Needham was recently honored with the prestigious President's Council award.

Safety first—The Needham Police Department reminds residents of some safety tips during hunting season.
