Week in Review: Poor Voter Turnout and Selectmen Change Leadership

A look back at the week’s most notable stories.

The town election drew a on Tuesday, with poll locations quiet throughout the day. In the end, incumbent Michael Greis and newcomer Kim Marie Nicols , while Planning Board member Bruce Eisenthut was re-elected to his seat. Following the election, two returning selectmen were sworn in to their seats on Wednesday night, with Selectman Jerry Wasserman back for his fifth term and Jim Healy returning for his third term after several years off the board. Also at the meeting, , selecting Mo Handel as chairman, Wasserman as vice chairman and Daniel Matthews as clerk.

Also last week, Needham Police sought information in a crate in a Needham forest. Nicknamed “April,” the dog is being cared for at the Highland Animal Hospital.

And finally, a fourth grade student at Mitchell School learned about the after a letter she sent to state Rep. Denise Garlick for a class assignment inspired the legislator to visit the school on Monday.
