Pet of the Week: Russo
This eight-year-old cat is up for adoption with the Animal Rescue League in Dedham.
My name is Russo, and I am eight years young. I was found as an injured stray and brought here to the Animal Rescue League in Dedham. My wound was so severe that I was rushed to Tufts Veterinary Emergency Hospital. The shelter staff and hospital staff fell in love with me. They all said I was such a sweetheart even with all the pain I was in. I had a wound that went from the top of my head and ears to down and around my neck. I had a lot of stitches and the veterinarian at Tufts did such a wonderful job that I look like nothing ever happened.
I went home with a staff member for a little while before finding a more permanent foster home. At her house, I started my recovery and was crated to keep safe. Once my wound was looking better, I got to come out and meet her pets. I liked the kitties until one hissed at me. I hissed in return and started to chase him. My foster mom assured me that he was just a bully and to ignore him. The dog was small and excitable but I tolerated him just fine.
I love to play with toys and roll around purring. I went to a more permanent foster home where I finished my recovery. There I put on weight and my wound healed. My fur is growing back in and I look fantastic. I am now ready to find my forever home. If you want a super sweet and handsome kitty, you've found him. I would do well with children and mellow pets. I am up-to-date on all my vaccines and neutered. I will be micro-chipped before going home. Please call the shelter at 781-326-0729 for more information or stop by and visit with me.
