Farmers Market Coupons Available for Seniors

The is helping local seniors eat fresher, healthier food with a special coupon offer.

Needham residents ages 60 and up are encouraged to drop by the today, Monday, Aug. 6, between 1 and 2:30 p.m. to pick up coupon booklets to use at upcoming markets.

Only 25 booklets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to income-eligible residents ages 60 and older, according to a notice sent out over the weekend. To qualify, residents should have an annual income threshold of $20,676 for a single-person household, $27,996 for a two-person household, $35,328 for a three-person household and $42,648 for a four-person household.

The coupon booklets will allow seniors to save on fresh fruits, vegetables and cut herbs at the weekly Needham Farmers Market, held every Sunday through October from 1-5 p.m. on the front lawn of . The coupons are valid for items purchased at the MacArthur Farm or The Neighborhood Farm booths.
