Five Things for the weekend feature a local star, a paper star, and a hot topic.

1. Sunny but cold is the forecast today. The National Weather service predicts 28ºF highs for the sunny day, followed by a increasingly cloudy evening with lows of 19ºF.

3. The sun will come out tonight--well a star from town: Wellesley's Megan Kaye stars in Open Door Theater's "Annie". Performances this weekend, tonight at 7 p.m., and more tomorrow and Sunday. Tickets are $12.

4. More than just cranes, the Needham Free Public Library is running a Paperfolding class this weekend. Whether you're an experienced folder or a beginning, you can swing by. It's at 11 a.m. Saturday, and for more information reach out to John Smith, 781-444-1276, saltsmith@verizon.net.

5. Does Fracking Doom Renewable Energy? I don't know, but the  is hosting a A Needham Lyceum to explore that topic. Starts on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. and the discussion will be led by Needham resident Bob Place.
