5 Things You Need to Know: Dec. 5

Give some thought to the day's activities, as some discussion of art and special education are coming in today's Five Things.

1. The National Weather Service expects showers today, with less than a tenth of an inch of rain coming down. With temperatures between 54ºF and 23ºF, the weather will leave us with a cold but clear evening.

2. Van Gogh is the topic at hand as Waterstone at Wellesley hosts Art Matters this afternoon. Starting at 2 p.m., they will be discussing Vincent Van Gogh's work. It's free and open to the public, but they'd like you to RSVP, so call 781-235-1614.

3. If you haven't gotten enough art today, there is a Juried Art Exhibit at Prudential Advantage Real Estate in needham. It's on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and leads up to a reception on Saturday at 1 p.m. Check out the art, then come back to meet the artist.

4. The Needham Special Education Parents Action Committee is Meeting tonight to discuss relevant topics and network. Swing by Broadmeadow Elementary School, between 7 and 7:30 p.m. for networking, and the program kicks off after that.

5. A musical blending of story and song of the African and Jewish disaporas is what you can expect when you go to live out The Afro-Semitic Experience. The band is playing a free show at Wellesley College, 7 p.m. tonight.
