Needham Local Katherine Ward Featured in Walnut Hill’s Production of Songs for a New World

Natick, MA – Katherine “Kat” Ward of Needham, MA will perform memorable story-song “The Flagmaker” as a solo in Walnut Hill School for the Arts’ autumn production of Songs for a New World later this month.

Songs for a New World invites the audience along on a journey from a Fifth Avenue high-rise to a Spanish sailing ship, as characters navigate their own personal crossroads and experience the electric energy that comes with choosing whether to turn back or forge ahead. Performances will take place on October 25 & 26 at 8:00pm, October 26 at 2:00pm, and October 27 at 4:00pm at Walnut Hill’s Keiter Center for the Performing Arts in Natick, MA.

Ward, a senior at Walnut Hill, has appeared in a number of productions including A New Brain (Homeless Woman), Sorry, Wrong Number (Mrs. Stevenson), and How To Succeed in Business without Really Trying (U/S to Smitty and Featured Ensemble). Outside of Walnut Hill, Ward has performed in productions at Needham High School, Alexander Children's Theatre, Watertown Children's Theatre, Boston Children's Theatre, Turtle Lane Playhouse, and Weston Drama Workshop. A vocal student of Debra Parker, Ward has been singing with a capella groups since her freshman year and has received previous training at University of Michigan’s Summer Program for Musical Theatre (MPulse) and Boston University Summer Theatre Institute.
