New Trustees at BID-Needham

Needham, MA—Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Board of Trustees Chair Jennifer Pline and President and CEO John Fogarty are pleased to welcome Francis D. Antin of Marion and David Buckle, MD, of Boston to the BID-Needham Board of Trustees.

“Frank and David will add to the talented group of Trustees at BID-Needham,” said Jennifer Pline, Chair, Board of Trustees. “Both men are well-connected to the hospital and the community. They bring a wealth of knowledge about finance, medicine, and the communities in which our friends and patients live.”

Both new trustees are well known to BID-Needham. Dr. Buckle has practiced primary care medicine in the Needham area for 17 years. Mr. Antin is a former member of the Board of Advisors.He currently serves on the Development Committee.

Frank Antin

Mr. Antin is a retired business executive who has spent the majority of his career in the financial services community in Boston. Prior to retiring in 2008, Mr. Antin was the Finance Chairman for the Boston Private Industry Council. During his career, Mr. Antin worked at BNY Mellon in numerous executive positions, including President and CEO of the Boston Company Asset Management. He also worked with State Street Corporation and early in his career at IBM in a sales and sales management capacity. Mr. Antin is a past Chairman of the Southern Connecticut State University Foundation, his alma mater.

“I am delighted to be joining the Board at such an exciting time in the hospital's history,” said Antin. “I look forward to contributing in any way I can to help BID-Needham achieve continued success."

Mr. Antin and his wife, Deborah, are actively involved with the Nativity Preparatory School of New Bedford. Since retiring, Mr. Antinhas spentpart of his time coaching high school football at Cohasset and Old Rochester Regional High Schools.The Antins have two grown daughters and five grandchildren.

DAVID BUCKLE, MD

David Buckle, MD, is the medical director at Beth Israel Deaconess Family Medicine-Dedham/Westwood. He has practiced family medicine in Dedham, in affiliation with the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham since 1997. Dr. Buckle also serves on several committees in physician leadership roles for Affiliated Physician Group/Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare, Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization (BIDCO), and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. He is an active member of the medical staffs at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital –Needham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Buckle was the President of the Medical Staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham from 2006 to 2008, and a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham from 2001-2010.

“The progress BID-Needham has made over the past five years is remarkable,” commented Dr. Buckle. “Everyone from the physicians, to staff to the Boards of Trustees and Advisors have contributed greatly in making BID-Needham a great success in our community. As a trustee I look forward to contributing to this trend so that we can continue to provide accessible, comfortable and compassionate care to our communities.”

Dr. Buckle is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, with a certificate of Special Competence in Emergency Medicine.He practiced in Ottawa, Ontario, for three years prior to coming to the Boston area. Born in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Buckle is a dual US-Canadian citizen. He has three daughters, one attending Washington and Lee University in Virginia and two in the Westwood Public Schools.
