Needham Farmers Market 2014 Season Not To Be Missed

The Needham Farmers Market, sponsored by Needham Bank, is gearing up to kick off its third season at its new downtown location in the municipal parking lot behind Needham Bank located off
of Garden Street.

The Market will section off the Garden Street parking lot closest to the train, with the rest of the lot open for convenient parking for all shoppers. Every Sunday from May 25th through November 23rd, Noon - 4:00 p.m., locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, cheeses and packaged foods will be available for purchase from vendors all located within 30 miles of Needham. In addition, the Market will feature musical entertainment, educational programs, cooking demonstrations at the Center Cafe and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Returning vendors will include: MacArthur Farm in Holliston, selling fresh vegetables and plants; Needham-based The Neighborhood Farm, with vegetables, greens and herbs; Globe Fish, which sells a variety of fresh seafood all processed that same morning; Lilac Hedge in Berlin, which produces sustainably raised meats and poultry on pastures; Susie’s Bakery; Foxboro Cheese and Gay Grace Tea, which offers a variety of teas and items such as teapots, cozies and infusers.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with our new location. We truly appreciate all the help we have had from Needham Bank and the Town of Needham to make this possible. We are now able to offer
a convenient location and more space for our shoppers to enjoy the market with plenty of parking,” said Jeff Friedman, President of the Needham Farmers Market Board of Directors.

Needham Bank is a strong proponent of the shop local movement and has been a supporter of the Needham Farmers Market since its inception. Jack McGeorge, Chairman and CEO of Needham Bank comments, “We are happy to do our part to ensure local organizations like the NFM continue to succeed and enrich this community. Work is almost complete on our new addition to the Main Office. I’m so pleased that this has resulted in a new home for the Market and hope everyone will support them again this year. As you know, we believe that shopping local means banking local.”
