Wingate Construction Project Underway in Needham

Construction of The Residences at Wingate at Needham project is progressing and scheduled for completion by May 2013, Scott Schuster, CEO of Wingate Healthcare announced recently.

“Wingate is delighted to expand our Needham campus to meet the needs of seniors and their families,” Schuster said.

Located on Gould Street adjacent to the skilled nursing facility at 589 Highland Ave., the Residences at Wingate at Needham will offer 91 state-of-the-art apartments comprised of 37 Memory Care units, 42 Traditional Assisted Living units and 12 Supportive Independent units.

Callahan Inc. of Bridgewater is the general contractor for the project, which was designed by The Architectural Team of Chelsea.

The Residences at Wingate will consist of a three story, 82,000 square foot building and will feature a full range of amenities including an open kitchen concept with three dining rooms, grilling station with outdoor dining area and fire pit, patio and fitness courtyard with water feature, theater, library with fireplace and computer stations, bistro with pool table and flat screen television, as well as a spa and salon.

The 30,000 square foot parking area will offer 67 covered parking spaces with camera and secured access. The building will have WiFi throughout and interactive touch screen monitors in various locations.

The Memory Care Assisted Living unit will feature a private, secured entrance, a resource conference room, main living and dining room, activities room and brain gym, a country kitchen, spa and salon, an e-call system and a secure outdoor area.

Our new facility will allow us to offer more comprehensive services to residents of Needham and neighboring communities, while continuing our mission in a welcoming, nurturing environment,” Schuster said.
