Newton Jeweler Creates Custom Earrings for Olympic Gymnast Aly Raisman

The earrings feature red, white and blue stones.

Although she's a Needham native, will have a little bit of Newton with her as she competes in the 2012 London Olympics.

Raisman, 18, will be wearing a pair of earrings made for her by in Newton Highlands. According to a press release from the jeweler, the custom round earrings feature ruby, sapphire and diamond gems to represent the colors of the United States.

"Aly’s family has been a client of ours for a while and in support of her accomplishments we wanted to create something that fits her style in the Olympic games. We hope that this is a piece that she will wear forever," owner Veronica Sagherian said in a press release.

Raisman wore the earrings during some Olympic pre-interviews and, according to the press release, also had them on  this month. The earrings were designed by Adamas co-owner Anto Aboyan. 

Adamas jewelry has promised a pair of the custom earrings to each of Raisman's teammates if the U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team takes home gold.

Raisman, who , is set to compete in the vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and balance beam qualifications starting Sunday at 9:45 a.m. London time (4:45 a.m. EST). . and in the primetime broadcast at 7 p.m.
