The chair outside of Gari is dedicated to the 442nd Regimental Combat Team of the US Army, a regiment made up of Japanese-Americans who fought in WWII, despite the internment of their families. Table displays in the restaurant have more info.
Also new for this year, the Find a Mini-Adirondack Chair scavenger hunt. Each of the 40 businesses around town sponsoring an adirondack chair have a miniature chair hidden somewhere on their premises. Finding the chairs will help you decode a secret message, which will enter you in a prize drawing.
Chairs will be auctioned off at a show on Sept. 21. Tickets for the auction are available the following locations: Taylor’s Stationery, Perennial Designs, Closet Exchange, Black Sheep, The Grey Goose, and The Center Café.
