Art Lecture and Demo on Golden Acrylic Paints

The Needham Art Association will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the . Mixed media artist Adria Arch will be there to give a Golden Acrylic Paints lecture demo. She will present information on pigments, viscosities, gels, mediums, grounds, color mixing and more. All participants will receive free product samples and a literature packet, including a hand-painted color chart.

Arch attended the Rhode Island School of Design and Carnegie Mellon University. She received an MA in art education at the University of Arizona and a MFA in painting at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She is a member of the Bromfield Gallery in Boston’s South End. Her work is included in the collections of the Boston Public Library, The DeCordova Museum and Fidelity Corporation.

She has taught at the DeCordova Museum, Montserrat College of Art, Massachusetts College of Art, Endicott College and in many other venues. She recently completed two commissioned site specific murals: at Lesley University’s Porter Square building in Cambridge, MA, at the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, MA and at Frame 31 (a street side gallery at Montserrat College of Art).

The meeting and art demo will take place in the Community Room in the Needham Public Library at 1139 Highland Ave. It is wheelchair accessible. The event is free and the public is invited to attend. The Needham Art Association enriches Needham by exhibiting over 500 paintings in town locations every year. It has received grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. It welcomes new members.
