Another Chair to Remember Coming to Needham

Scavenger hunt, design-your-own chairs and more coming to the artistic event.

The town is looking to get a lot more comfortable, and colorful--A Chair to Remember is coming back to Needham next month.

If you missed last year's event, members of the local business community got together with the goal of creating some art that could be displayed around town for the summer. The result was a series of 40 adirondack chairs decorated and placed around town. After the show, many of the chairs were sold at auction.

For those who were around last year, this year's show added some new types of seating: rocking chairs, children's chairs, even footstools.

According to a press release from Chair to Remember organizers, the response to their call for artists earlier in the year has been "overwhelming" and they have another batch of more than 40 chairs to go on display at Town Hall come Sept. 17.

Also new for this year, the Find a Mini-Adirondack Chair scavenger hunt. Each of the 40 businesses around town sponsoring an adirondack chair have a miniature chair hidden somewhere on their premises. Finding the chairs will help you decode a secret message, which will enter you in a prize drawing.

The show starts on September 17 this year, and will be auctioned off on September 21. Tickets for the auction are available the following locations: Taylor’s Stationery, Perennial Designs, Closet Exchange, Black Sheep, The Grey Goose, and The Center Café.
