Needham To Go Red For Women

Heart-Healthy Fair will be next month.

The town will go “red for women” next month on Valentine’s Day to raise awareness for cardiovascular disease.

In an attempt to educate residents, the CardioVascular Institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham and the town offices will hold a day of educational activities Feb. 14.

The Heart-Healthy Fair will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Center at the Heights Senior Center. Activities include:

• Blood pressure screenings

• Educational handouts and giveaways

• Door prizes

• Free Nutritional Goodies

• AHA staff will provide heart healthy tips

Officials also encourage residents to wear red and visit local stores and restaurants; donate to the American Heart Association (AHA), and pick up an AHA Red Dress pin.
