Needham Storm Center: Snow Sends One to Hospital After Accident

The National Weather Service is predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow in the Boston area between Tuesday and Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning has also been issued for the region through Wednesday afternoon.

According to National Weather Service, there will be periods of moderate to heavy snow along with gusty winds that will cause visibilities of one mile or less at times. Winds will be 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Wednesday, Jan. 22
5:30 a.m.: Needham Public Schools open today.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

2:15 p.m.: All high school athletics for the afternoon have been canceled due to the impending snowstorm.
11:35 a.m.: Airlines Canceling Flights in Preparation of Storm

Traffic reports
The snow resulted in seven disabled motor vehicle calls and one personal injury accident. The accident occurred 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and a passenger was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Needham for apparent minor injuries.

“The storm wasn’t very eventful,” said Needham police lieutenant Chris Baker.
