Drivers: Plan Ahead for I-93 Restrictions Through Boston Tuesday Night

Complete lane closures planned on Interstate 93 Northbound through Boston Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Tuesday, Oct. 15 into Wednesday, Oct. 16, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’smaintenance schedule will require the closure of lanes on Interstate 93 Northbound through Boston.

I-93 Northbound traffic will be detoured off the Expressway at Exit 16, Southhampton Street, and directed along surface streets.

The detour will allow traffic to get back onto I-93 Northbound at the Haymarket on-ramp. Traffic heading to Rte. 1 Northbound (the Tobin Bridge) should stay on the surface streets and access to the Rte. 1 Northbound on-ramp in City Square.

Maintenance crews and contractors, along with State and Boston Police will begin setting up these closures Tuesday night at 11 p.m. The full closure is slated to begin at midnight on Wednesday and last until 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.
