5 Things You Need to Know: STEMS and Arrows, College Visits and More

1. Could be some heavy rains today. A 60 percent chance of it, possibly even thunderstorms according to the National Weather Service. If there are rains, they will mostly hit between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and otherwise the day will be mostly cloudy. The temperatures will be between 86ºF and 67ºF.

2. The new calendar on the new Patch site is looking a little bare. If you have an event coming up, it could be worth double-checking that your events are still on there. If you haven't yet posted one, go to the Events Calendar and click Post and Event. When you submit it, it is on our page.

3. MassBay Community College is hosting a STEM Summer Program for Middle School students. Science-, Technology-, Engineering- and Math-related classes for kids going into 8th or 9th grade, running from today to July 19. The program runs $300.

4. If you are thinking of picking up archery, the odds may be in your favor. Golden Arrow Archery, a mobile archery camp, is setting up in Needham this summer. It's a five-day program that starts at 2:30 p.m. today. For more information, please visit our website www.gaarchery.com or send us an email at info@gaarchery.com.

5. For those gearing up for a college search, University of Chicago is coming to your doorstep--or, at least the doorstep of the Wellesley Free Library. At 7 p.m. today, the library hosts representatives from the University for an information session. Could be a chance for the class of 2014 to learn a bit more about their college career.
