Scenes of Needham Resident and ACA New England board member at ACA New England Camp Champions Celebration

Needham resident, Jason Silberman, helped lead Lexington-based American Camp Association, New England’s 3rd Annual Camp Champions Celebration, which took place at Fenway Park last month. As an ACA New England board member, Silberman has co-chaired the event for the past three years, to help raise funds to send at-risk youth to summer camps. This year’s celebration honored Watertown native, actress, and camp activist, Eliza Dushku, for her extraordinary work developing a program for girls at Camp Hale, a program of the United South End Settlements, where girls and young woman can experience first-hand how life-changing camp can be. Eliza attended the event with her long-time boyfriend and former Celtics player, Rick Fox. This year’s fundraising will give a record number of underserved children the opportunity to attend ACA Accredited day and overnight camps in all six New England states through the campership program in the summer of 2014. In addition to his involvement with ACA New England, Silberman is also the owner and director of Camp Matoaka in Smithfield, ME.
