Redisover the NEW Prelude Gifts, Now "The Butterfly Tree Boutique"

The NEW Prelude Gifts
The NEW Prelude Gifts

The beloved neighborhood gift shop, Prelude Gifts in Needham, recently experienced a transformation and has reemerged from its cocoon with a new name, a fresh atmosphere, and unique merchandise. Now known as “The Butterfly Tree Boutique”, the new boutique is still located at 324 Chestnut Street in Needham, diagonally across the street from Roche Bros. Supermarket. While the location has not changed, the ownership, merchandise, and shopping experience certainly has.

After her battle with breast cancer a few years ago, the new owner Maria Piedra, a native of Marshfield Massachusetts, decided to follow her dream of opening a gift and fashion boutique that sells eco-friendly, fair trade, re-purposed, and ethically-made products. Shortly after opening The Butterfly Tree Boutique in Medfield, she expanded her dream when she purchased Prelude Gifts in Needham. Her battle with cancer had a profound effect on her perspective as she realized that life is short and she needed to live her life-long dream of opening the Butterfly Tree Boutique.

What makes The Butterfly Tree Boutique so unique is its commitment to providing items that are produced with an environmental and social conscious. For instance bracelets made from Tagua seeds are one of the many popular items that The Butterfly Tree Boutique offers. They are handmade by a fair trade group in Ecuador, and they are sourced from the locally grown and sustainable Palm Trees. The Butterfly Tree also carries Alchemy Goods, a line of bags and wallets made from reclaimed bicycle inner-tubes. You can also find unique Home Décor decorative accessories for the discriminating taste, such as candles made from recycled wine bottles and clocks made from flattened beverage bottles. With items like these, The Butterfly Tree makes it possible to buy fashionable and fun gifts for yourself or for others while also supporting communities around the globe as well as our planet.

But the boutique doesn’t just bring in products from other countries. The Butterfly Tree Boutique is also dedicated to supporting local artists, artisans, and suppliers.  Offering items that are made in the US is very import to Maria. The boutique features items such as skin care products from Molly’s Apothecary of Medway, MA; “Art by Any Means” jewelry, handmade in Gloucester, MA; and Green Koala skin care products and candles made with all natural ingredients locally in Marshfield, MA. Maria loves to contribute to the community and shopping at the Butterfly Tree Boutique is a way to join her in supporting the local economy. Another way that the boutique gets involved with the community is by hosting fundraisers and private shopping nights for local organizations like Medfield Green Moms.

Another feature of the new Prelude Gifts is the addition of fashionable clothing, jewelry, and accessories for women. Made in the USA brands such as Nally & Millie, Cubism, Lur, Last Tango, and Luxe Junkie are just a few of the brands that The Butterfly Tree Boutique offers. They have clothing for the young and the young at heart, and something to fit any budget. When it comes to jewelry, this boutique is your one-stop-shop. You can find decorative accessories for any style in Jewelry, and The Butterfly Tree Boutique is proud to be the only approved vendor of Alex & Ani bracelets in the area.

Maria invites everyone to come, re-discover, and have fun at the new Prelude Gifts, now known as The Butterfly Tree Boutique, at 324 Chestnut Street in Chestnut Plaza in Needham and experience shopping in a new way! With new arrivals daily, The Butterfly Tree Boutique is the perfect place to shop for yourself or others in a way that contributes to the local economy, supports global communities, and minimizes your impact on the environment.
