Needham Piano Studio has yet another successful performance at Newbridge on the Charles

Needham Piano Studio Performs Classical Masterpieces at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham.

 

On June 14th, 2014, eighteen young pianists from Needham Piano Studio performed at a classical music concert for an attentive audience of senior residents at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham. The afternoon concert featured masterpieces from the world’s greatest all-time composers including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Slonimsky, and Shostakovich. The concert included a number of piano duets performed by siblings and friends.  Through these duets students, can connect not only with the music, but also with their peers.

The concert has become an annual tradition for NewBridge residents and they eagerly await it every year.  They love connecting with both the music and the young performers.  The students on the other hand love performing to an audience that is so eager to hear them play, and know that they are bringing much joy to the community.

Performance training is a vital part of the music program at Needham Piano Studio, founded by Rita Mikulinksy in 1993.  Her students participate often in local and regional music festivals, piano competitions and open recitals. The performers at the Newbridge concert are among her most experienced. Some of them were prize winners at the Bay state Competition this year, URI Piano Extravaganza in Rhode Island receiving awards , Russian Music Competition in New Jersey  , as a winners played at Carnegie hall.

 

A native of Russia, Ms. Mikulinsky holds Masters Degrees in Piano Performances, Piano Pedagogy, Chamber Ensembles and Accompaniment from Gorky State Conservatory (Soviet Union) and a PhD from Moscow Gnesin Music-Pedagogical Institute (Soviet Union).  She is an active member of the New England Piano Teacher Association, Massachusetts Music Teacher Association and New Jersey Talented Young Musician Association.
