Scott Schuster, founder and president of Wingate Healthcare and The Residences at Wingate, is also a member of the hospital’s Board of Advisors and has been very involved with the hospital over the past several years. “As part of the Needham community, Heidi and I have always felt that the BID–Needham is a very special place. We are so fortunate to have not only exceptional care but also modern and state of the art facilities at our community hospital.  BID-Needham has always taken care of our friends and our employees, particularly in emergency situations, and is an integral part of what makes Needham a great place to live and to work. The hospital’s leadership and commitment to modernization and to expanding important community health care services here in our backyard make Heidi and I feel fortunate to be able to support BID–Needham in the creation of the new Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion through this year’s Gala.”

Funds raised at Dream Big, The Great Gatsby Gala will go toward a $6 million capital campaign for the new Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion at BID–Needham. The construction of the project, a unique collaboration between Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham, is already underway. The building is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2014.
