2013 BID-Needham Gala

Needham, MA - Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham's 15th Annual Gala broke fundraising and attendance records when more than 800 guests celebrated in Gatsby-inspired Gala at the Putman Club at Gillette Stadium on November 2. The gala raised a record-breaking $650,000 to benefit the new Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion in Needham.

“We are so grateful to everyone who attended and supported this year’s Gala,” said BID-Needham President and CEO John Fogarty. “It was wonderful to see so many new people alongside our longtime supporters celebrating the present and future growth of BID-Needham.”

The Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion will be home to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's world renowned cancer care, giving patients in the western suburbs greater access to cancer care and services. The $24 million cost of the Cancer Center and Surgical Pavilion is being financed by a combination of community-raised capital campaign funds and significant investments by BID-Needham and BIDMC. To date, BID-Needham has raised nearly $3 million dollars toward our goal of $6 million.

Scott Schuster, a member of the BID–Needham Board of Advisors, and his wife Heidi, co-chaired the Gala. They led a Gala Committee comprised of more than 60 employees and community leaders who carefully planned the Gatsby-themed gala.  “Heidi and I are so grateful for the support of the friends of BID-Needham for making the Dream Big Gala a huge success,” said Scott Schuster. “It is an honor to be involved in the Needham community and we are pleased to say that we were a part of the 15th Annual gala which successfully raised over $650,000 with the help of the amazing Gala committee and over 800 attendees.”
