Today in Needham: Bread and Breakfast, Gaga Ball and More!

Five things you need to know today in Dover, Needham, and Sherborn for Oct 4, 2013.


1. There is about a 30 percent chance of showers during the day today, according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, mostly cloudy with a high of 74ºF and a low of 52ºF. 

2. Foundation for MetroWest is hosting year's Community Leadership Breakfast at the Newton Marriott. It's running from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and features Ron Shaich, the founder of Panera Bread as the keynote speaker of a program entitled "Business Leaders and Community Philanthropy: An Essential Partnership."

3. Programming at the Sherborn Library today includes a baby lap sitting time, with finger plays, simple stories and songs from 10 to 10:30 a.m., and storytime starting at 11 a.m.

4. Babies, toddlers and young kids are welcome to join the kids Shabbat service at Temple Aliyah this evening, starting at 5:30 p.m. and followed by a taco dinner. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for kids age 5 and older. For more information or to register contact Temple Tots at templetots@templealiyah.com or call the Temple office, 781-444-8522.

5. Dance/Sport Night and Gaga Ball starts tonight at the Pollard Middle School in Needham, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. It's the first of the year, and admission is $8, there are also snacks, pizza and water available for purchase from the snack bar.
