Today in Needham: Reading Dogs, Community Gardens and More!

Five things you need to know for Needham and Wellesley on August 5, 2013.


1. There may be some scattered showers throughout the day, so says the National Weather Service--there's a 40 percent chance--and a high of 71ºF, and then the evening will lead into a clear night with a low of 41ºF.

3. Lucy, the READ Dog (a black lab), is coming to the Needham Library to show kids why reading is so great. The pup, and Pat Howes will run a class at 10 a.m., and they are asking that you register as the class is capped at 15, kids 3+. Call (781) 455-7559 x204 for more information.

4. Palettes is taking on the notion of Gustav Klimt's "Tree of Life" in their wine and painting evening tonight. Nibbles, light drinks and painting start at 7 p.m., although swing by at 6:30 p.m. to reserve a seat. Costs $35.00 per person.

5. Ever thought about joining a community garden? Want to know more about it? Well, you're in luck because the Mass Horticultural Society is talking about that tonight! Runs $10 members, $15 non-members. Go to www.masshort.org for more information or to register.
