Today in Needham: New Coats, Paints and Pints and More!

Five things you need to know about Needham, Dover and Sherborn on Oct 11, 2013.

1. A 30 percent chance of showers, followed by patches of fog. That's the kind of day and evening, respectively, that the National Weather Service is predicting we'll find today

2. Blogging: We talk about it a fair bit, and you could definitely be doing it. Anything you want to tell the town about, post in our blogs. It's your space to talk about what matters most to you. All you have to do is head to the Blog page and get started.

3. Need a new coat before it starts snowing? Now might be the perfect time to go grab one, and support a local organization. The Needham Commuity Council is hosting its annual coat sale on Friday, starting at 10 a.m. when they open. Swing in to get the perfect gently-used coat for the coming season.

4. The Dover Town Library is hosting the soccer club's meeting today, from 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. If you don't have any information about the club, but want to know more, that's where they'll be.

5. A picture is worth a thousand threads. Tonight's featured painting for Friday Night Fun at Palettes is a sunset with a quilted look about it. Head over to their Natick location at 6:30 p.m. to pick your seat, as painting starts promptly at 7 p.m. It is $35 per person, but they also have drinks, snacks and paints. Call for more information: 508-318-8337, or register online at their website.
