Today in Needham: Friday Biking, Free Fun, Water Lilies and More!

Five things you need to know for Dover, Needham and Sherborn on August 30.

1. Mostly sunny with a high of 80ºF, according to the National Weather Service, and a slim chance (20 percent) of thunderstorms in the evening, but otherwise partly cloudy with a low of 65ºF.

2. This Today In post, and the Weekend Planner are both fueled by the Events Calendar. If you have something going on in town, and we don't have it on our calendar, we can't tell people about them! Post them on our calendar.

3. Needhamites are biking this Friday--the Needham Bikes group is heading to Boston by way of Newton Town Hall to meet other cyclists. They are meeting up at Needham Town Hall at 6:15 a.m., and then heading to Cutler Park for 6:30 a.m., then on to Boston and beyond. Register ahead, for free.

4. Free Fun Fridays is back, and is heading to the New Repertory Theatre this weekend. The New Rep is putting on two free performances of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," one at 10 a.m., the other at 2 p.m. at the Arsenal Street theatre in Watertown. Tickets will be given out one hour before to each performance, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

5. Natick's Palettes is giving you the opportunity to have some wine and cheese, and work on your interpretation of Monet's water lilies. They call it "FUN art, not FINE art." This starts off at 6:30 p.m., and it costs $35 a person.
