Today in Needham: Alchemy, Movies and a Revolution, and More!

Five things you need to know today about August 22, 2013 for Needham and Wellesley.

1. While today will be sunny, and tonight will be mostly cloudy, the National Weather Service also says there will be a 20 to 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. Temperatures should be between 86ºF and 65ºF.

3. The Mass. Horticultural Society is looking to teach you alchemy. Less lead-into-gold, and more herbal alchemy. Starting at 10:30 a.m., they are looking at some of the plants around us that, while many consider them weeds, are actually beneficial. 

4. Stories on screen, as the Needham Public Library is showing some storybook favorites on the big screen this morning, 11 a.m.in the Community room. The Library asks that kids be accompanied by adults.

5. The One Fund Boston has raised close to $65 million, and Clery's in Boston is trying to start a revolution tonight. Four New England Revolution Players Hop Behind the Bar for The One Fund. At 6:30 p.m., Matt Reis, Bobby Shuttleworth, A.J. Soares and Andrew Farrell will be serving drinks at the bar on Dartmouth Street.
