Kids are invited to a week of active, adventurous fun at The Congregational Church of Needham’s Vacation Bible School program from Monday, August 27 through Friday, August 31, 8:30am-noon. This year’s theme is “VBS Olympics: Join God’s Olympic Team to Change the World” where kids will create crafts, play exciting games, participate in meaningful community service, sing upbeat songs, and enjoy delicious snacks.

Led by the church’s Youth Minister, Rev. Jamie Green, kids, ages 3 years old to sixth grade, will learn how they can change the world by providing welcome, food, water, clothing, and care for all people. Each morning, all ages meet together for the Opening Ceremonies. Then kids split into teams by age and travel to different events, like art, story, cooking, service and games. At the end of each day, all kids come back together for the Closing Ceremony.

The fee is $15 per day for morning activities at VBS from 8:30-noon. Lunch bunch will be offered from noon-1 for $5 per day. Additional children in each family will receive a 50% discount. Register by August 1 for a $10 discount. Scholarships are also available.

The Congregational Church is a faith community open to all people. Morning worship is held at 10am on Sundays, with childcare available for infants and Sunday School classes available for kids and high school students. Several groups meet at the church, including youth, men's and women's groups. An after-school program called The Center is open to students in grades 6 and 7. Additionally, The Friendly Society, a group of women who gather for friendship and fellowship purposes, meets several times during the year. The church also is heavily involved in the music scene. Youth choirs meet regularly, as does the Chancel Choir, and the sanctuary has a state-of-the-art organ. Guests can visit the library, and the church hosts several live performers throughout the year.
